Detail
High-End Network Streamer and Digital Interface
HoloAudio “RED” is a Network Streamer with I2S HDMI output supporting up to DSD 1024, plus can be used as DDC (USB to I2S or SPDIF converter).
Employing a Pi Compute Module 4 the RED only uses the Pi4 as core system. It differs from a standard Raspberry Pi because it does not have all peripheral components on board, but has been developed by HoloAudio for optimized audio reproduction. The advantage is that it can be used with a lot of software and is therefore versatile.
Once connected to your network via its RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet input, the RED can, via a web interface, access many streaming services such as Spotify, Deezer, Qobuz, Tidal or web radio. It is also compatible with a long list of network protocols such as AirPlay 2, UPnP, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Squeezelite, or NAA HQPlayer.
For its connectivity, the Holo Audio RED provides input RJ45 Ethernet, USB-B and a Micro SD port. For the outputs, we can count on I2S via HDMI, AES/EBU, coaxial RCA and BNC, optical and a USB-A port.
